Musical Game
People like those with whom they feel they have something in common. The more you have in common, the stronger her rationalization will be that it was meant to happen between you.
She needs to be able to picture you as a realistic part of her everyday life. Sure, she likes it when you entertain her at the club, but in her house that would look like a circus. Do you fit into each other’s real lives? Are your social circles compatible? Be ready, during the comfort phase, to discover special information about her, so you can show this commonality.
Be careful: If you look like you're just fishing for these commonalities in an attempt to get into her good graces, you’ll come off as extremely needy. However, there are unobtrusive ways to find things you have in common. For example, try the classic MM musical game.
You start
I like Pearl Jam. That's my favorite band from the 90s. Do you know the song "Garden"? I remember making out to it with my high school sweetheart... Your turn.
Her
Okay. I like Ray Charles... I've always loved "Georgia on My Mind." Did you see that movie about him?
You
Yeah, last night actually. He’s got one of the most amazing voices I’ve ever heard... Ray Charles. I really underestimated you. You’ve got good taste in music. My turn. I love the band A Perfect Circle.
Her
I love Tool! I’ve been listening to them since their first album.
You
You love Tool—no way! Not many girls listen to them. You know, I remember when their last record came out... tell a story ...and I never saw her again, but I still have that seashell she gave me in the rain. Your turn.
You don’t need to praise her music taste after every band or song she names. Once, you can say:
Oh my god, no. That song sucks, it’s all about...
Here’s the template: if she responds to you, give an IOI. If not, IO D. In any case, follow up with a story rich in DHV and then move on, for example, to a questions game by asking something that checks the level of agreement. This routine is best used to open up a single target, one-on-one with her, or when you're sitting with her in your car, or at your place on day two.
